Amery Area Community Foundation

Mission: We build permanent endowments and provide philanthropic leadership, enabling donors to make lasting investments in the Amery area.

History: The Amery Area Community Foundation (AACF) was established in 1984 by the City of Amery, local organizations and concerned citizens as a community trust. Its purpose was to allow individuals the opportunity to make lasting, flexible gifts to meet the needs of residents in the Amery area. It affiliated with the St. Croix Valley Foundation in 2008, and its goals have remained steadfast: to assure donors that gifts made today will be professionally managed and used wisely and effectively to enhance the community’s future well-being.

Impact: The proceeds of our endowed Amery Area Action Fund are used to provide $20,000 in grants to local nonprofits and causes each year. The Amery Regional Health and Wellness Fund focuses on these issues in area schools and communities. Local churches, nonprofits, and the library have created their own long-term funds for future use. Numerous endowed funds give scholarships to local high school seniors every year. Other families have created their own donor-advised funds to direct to their favorite causes and charities.

Grant Opportunities: During 2017-18, Amery Area Community Foundation will be focused on issues related to mental health in our area.  This includes the Make It OK campaign to reduce the stigma of mental health. Grants will also be available to area nonprofits helping clients with mental health issues.
