Every year, St. Croix Valley Foundation (SCVF) supports organizations of various missions through three competitive grant programs – fulfilling the wishes of many generous donors who have put the power of endowment to work for their communities.
The Valley Arts Initiative is one such donor supported endowed grant program. It was built by private donors and this year was augmented with funding from the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation.
In 2019, eight nonprofit organizations, many with an art/social services focus, received funding from SCVF’s Valley Arts Initiative grant program – a touring production of “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play,” a therapeutic artist-in-residence program serving youth in mental health treatment, a summertime film and music festival, a women’s writing program at Washington County Jail, art for adults dealing with mental health issues, a program capturing the stories of area residents – all engage participants through the transformative power of art.
St. Croix Valley Foundation thanks the many donors who have partnered with SCVF to establish these philanthropic programs – thereby supporting nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the region*, each year - forever.
This year, Valley Arts Initiative grant applications will be due December 13, 2019 (additional details pending). For more information.
*The service area of St. Croix Valley Foundation covers Washington and Chisago counties in Minnesota and Pierce, St. Croix, Polk and Burnett counties in Wisconsin.
